Denver House Painting Prices

Exterior House Painting
The average cost to paint the exterior of a house in the Denver Metro Area is about $2,800 to $6,200. The total square feet of the exterior of the house is the greatest factor effecting the price. Next is the condition of existing paint and the condition of the siding and trim underneath the paint. If the home was well maintained and painted every 5 to 7 years, there would be little extra preparation for painting. If the exterior has not been well maintained such as, peeling paint, exposed bare wood and rotted wood all would increase the time spend on preparation.

The preparation of the house before painting is the most important part of painting. The final price is also dependent on the quality of paint that is chosen. A lower quality paint will save money, but will require a repaint sooner than a higher quality, which will cost more. A color change will also effect the price. Going from a dark color to a light color will take an additional coat of paint. So, there is no formula that gives a final cost, it is the qualified painting estimator who has the experience to set a price base on all the task that need to be completed to effectively paint a house to the homeowner's satisfaction.

Interior House Painting
The average cost to paint the interior of a house in the Denver Metro Area is about $2,800 to $6,200. The prices seem similar comparable to painting the exterior of a house, but it is more expensive to paint the interior of a house than the exterior. The only exception to that rule is when the house, condo, apartment is vacate and the carpeting or flooring is going to be replaced after painting so it does not need protecting. Otherwise, the cost is more because all areas, furnishing, and personal property must be protected. Another reason for a higher price, is painting the interior is more labor intensive because the paint must be applied with a brush and roller, which takes more time than a sprayer.

Factors that effect the cost is the total square feet of the room or house. Will the ceiling be painted and the number of colors needed to paint the room. The ceiling is flat white, a color for the walls, a color for the trim, and is there an accent wall. Four colors in one room is more expensive than one color. Is there a color change. Going from a dark color to a light color will need more paint for an extra coat, or it may need to be primed white, first, which will also add to the price. Every house is different, every situation is unique and our project manager will consider all of these things and more, to bring your dream to reality.
